The Mistress I Buried Became My Wife’s Best Friend

Chapter 3

3,180 words

Her identity really was fake.

Even the nurse part was just a disguise to get close to Mia.

That made me even more uneasy.

Because Mia seemed even more concerned about Nina now, and she firmly believed Nina wouldn’t lie to her. She asked to check the records of every nurse at the hospital.

The head nurse was a little embarrassed, but because of Mia’s status, she still took us to look.

The result was just as expected. None of the records matched the Nina in Mia’s memory.

“Miss Mia, did you remember wrong?”

“The Nina you’re talking about, could she have been another patient’s family member who kindly took care of you a few times?”

Faced with the head nurse’s question, Mia shook her head hard and answered firmly.

“No way!”

“She wore a nurse’s uniform and kept saying she was a nurse. Could I really mistake a living person that easily?”

“Oh, right!”

“One time I accidentally fell, and Nina was the one who called the doctor for me. Do you remember that? At least the doctor who rushed over to save me then must have seen her!”

As Mia’s voice fell, a strange expression appeared on the head nurse’s face.

“Miss Mia, on the day you had the accident....... no one called a doctor for you.”

“It was security that noticed your condition through the cameras, which was how you were saved in time and the baby was protected.”

“Why don’t you go get checked out? See if you’ve developed postpartum syndrome and started hallucinating?”

Mia froze on the spot.

“Hallucinations?”

She seemed to be lost in thought, and murmured hoarsely, “It does seem like no one besides me has seen her. She always appears alone at night.”

“And I’d never seen her before, but she seemed to know me and know a lot about me.”

“Could she really be someone I imagined?”

It could never be a hallucination!

How could Mia just imagine Nina out of nowhere?

Not only was the name the same, but even her appearance and background were very similar!

I was certain someone was pulling strings behind this, and I shouted out in excitement, “What bullshit hallucinations? Mia is fine. Someone is definitely playing tricks here!”

My shout startled everyone.

Mia pressed a hand to her chest and looked at me. “Darling, why are you so worked up? The medical conditions are really good now. Even if I really had some kind of problem, it can be treated.”

That was when I realized I had gotten a little too worked up.

The reflection on the wall showed my eyes red and bloodshot.

But I just couldn’t calm down.

“Mia, I’m worried someone with bad intentions is getting close to you.”

“Head nurse, take us to see the security footage right now!”

If that woman pretending to be Nina had really appeared, she would definitely have left traces.

When we got to the security room, I pulled up all the footage that had Mia in it.

But I still couldn’t find any sign of “Nina”!

Mia said that on the day she accidentally fell, “Nina” found her, went over to check on her, comforted her for a while, and only then went to call the doctor.

But the footage showed Mia talking to empty air!

At that instant, it felt like I had fallen into an ice cellar, and every hair on my body stood on end!

The Nina Mia saw.......

What exactly was she?
