My husband told me his company was sending him on a three-month business trip to another state. He kissed me goodbye and told me to rest at home and take care of the baby.

But last week, I stumbled upon a trending TikTok video from a pregnant creator:

"My husband accompanied me to every single prenatal visit. Even the nurses praised him as a model dad-to-be."

"It's so sad that some women can’t even hold onto their husbands' hearts when they’re pregnant."

"Look at our baby's ultrasound! He looks just like his daddy!"

The video ended with a photo taken in a hospital hallway.

A man was holding her by the shoulder. On his chest was a company badge—identical to my husband’s.

Alarm bells went off in my head. Carrying my seven-month pregnant belly, I booked a flight and flew directly to the city where he was supposed to be working.

But as soon as I arrived outside his hotel, I saw him getting out of a taxi.

I was surprised. Didn't he say he had meetings all day? I supported my lower back with my hand, preparing to walk over and say hello.

Suddenly, another heavily pregnant woman climbed out of the backseat.

"Ethan, slow down. Wait for me."

"Didn't you say no one we know would be here today?"

I froze. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I rubbed them to make sure.

Just then, my phone dinged. That TikTok account had just uploaded a new post:

"Oh no, the first wife just chased us down with her pregnant belly."
