My Husband Chose an Intern, So I Bought His Company
Chapter 1
I kicked Julian’s kept girl out of NovaTech’s headquarters myself.
When Julian found out, he was absolutely furious. To show off, he immediately took his little mistress on an overseas vacation.
"Next month is her birthday. I promised her I'd give her a real title."
"Sienna, we've been together for five years. You've been throwing tantrums for four of them. Enough is enough."
I looked at the intimate photo of them on a private island that had just popped up on my phone. My heart sank to rock bottom.
"A divorce? In your dreams!"
He wanted a thriving career and a hot mistress on the side.
Did he really think life was that easy?
I hung up the phone.
With a cold smile, I used my founder’s admin credentials to change NovaTech's official homepage. I replaced our company banner with a massive, eye-catching headline:
"Happy 4th Anniversary to our CTO, Julian Vance, and our lovely intern, Chloe Bennett!"
Julian and I had been married for five years.
And he had been sleeping with his "true love," Chloe, for four of them.
The irony was unbearable.
Once, we were the most famous tech couple on campus. We built our empire from a garage, and everyone envied us.
But just a year after NovaTech went public, Julian lost his mind.
He cheated on me with an intern who was seven years younger than him.
When I first found out, I didn't cry or scream. I simply used my power as a board member to fire her for "poor performance."
When Julian heard the news, he rushed over from a board meeting.
Wearing a custom-tailored suit, he stood by her empty cubicle. His first glance wasn't even at Chloe, who was packed up and crying her eyes out.
He looked at me, his eyes filled with a complicated darkness.
"Sienna, don't do this."
Do this?
What exactly did I do?
I just wanted to live a quiet, normal life with my husband. He was the one who cheated, yet he had the nerve to tell me not to "do this"?
"That night, I stayed up working on a critical server bug. I almost passed out from severe stomach spasms. When you called, you didn't ask how I was. You only asked about project risks and how it would affect our stock price..."
"But Chloe saw me. She quietly made me a warm cup of milk and stayed by my side all night."
The tenderness in Julian's eyes was something I had never seen before.
"In all these years, she was the first person who actually cared about me staying up late."
I knew Julian hadn't had it easy.
The endless nights of coding and debugging were brutal. He had practically risked his life to get us where we were.
But I found his excuse pathetic.
He was bought over by a cheap cup of instant milk?
What about the nights we starved, sharing a single bagel while drafting our business plan? What about the times I drank myself to sleep at networking dinners just to secure funding for him?
Did all of my sacrifices mean less than a cheap gesture of "warm milk"?
