My Ex Begs on His Knees After I Reclaim My Sight
Chapter 1
On Chase’s birthday, he was holding his new little plaything in his arms.
"Sienna? I got bored of her a long time ago."
"Ten years of relationship? So what? Who could feel any passion facing a blind woman?"
"That’s exactly why I haven’t married her after all these years."
Later, I returned fully healed, a top-tier designer. But he regretted it.
I flashed my marriage certificate. "Sorry, Chase. You didn't want to marry me, but plenty of other men did."
"Miss Vance, your eyes are almost fully recovered. With continued therapy, your vision will only get clearer."
"I’ll get the surgery fee ready as soon as possible."
My heart raced with excitement. I couldn't wait to tell Chase.
Today was his birthday. I had even bought a ring. I was going to propose to him tonight.
And share this amazing news.
I took a deep breath outside his VIP lounge.
Flowers and the ring—I had everything ready.
But the moment I cracked the door open, I saw a young woman snuggled up in Chase's lap.
My heart sank. My vision wasn't fully restored yet, but I could still make out the blurry shape.
"Chase, what if Sienna finds out?"
It was Liam, Chase’s best friend. He had witnessed our ten-year relationship from the start.
"You two have been together for ten years, after all."
I stood frozen. I wanted to hear if this was all just some misunderstanding.
Then, Chase’s lazy, indifferent voice drifted through the gap.
"Sienna? I got bored of her a long time ago. The spark is dead."
"Ten years is enough to kill any feeling. Besides, who could stay excited about a blind girl?"
"That's the only reason I haven't married her. I can't marry a blind woman and have everyone laugh at me behind my back."
He casually kissed the girl in his arms.
I instinctively took a few steps back.
A dull, crushing pain bloomed in my chest.
But I was never the type to suffer in silence.
I liked to put everything out in the open.
I still hoped, desperately, that this was just a sick joke.
I pushed the door wide open. Everyone stared at me in shock.
Maybe they were praying I hadn't heard those words.
Chase quickly pushed the girl aside and walked over to wrap his arm around me. "Sienna, what are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to wait for me at home?"
My body shook with rage. I raised my hand and slapped him hard across the face.
"Chase Sterling, we're done."
Since the truth was out, Chase stopped pretending. "Sienna, to be honest, I’ve wanted to say this for a long time. Breaking up is best for both of us."
His new girl couldn't stand seeing him get hit. She stepped up, pointing her finger right at my nose.
"You’re just a blind charity case! You don't deserve Chase. Being with you is humiliating for him!"
I knew this girl. Olivia Mercer. Her family was filthy rich.
"Miss Mercer, I didn't realize you loved being a homewrecker so much."
Olivia choked on her words, unable to talk back.
Chase immediately shielded her behind him. "Leave Olivia out of this. She doesn't owe you anything."
Suddenly, the man I had loved for ten years felt like a complete stranger.
I let out a self-deprecating laugh. My voice went cold. "Chase, have you forgotten why my eyes ended up like this in the first place?"
"She doesn't owe me anything. But you do. How are you going to pay me back?"
Chase sighed. "Sienna, I’ve taken care of you for ten years. Consider that my debt paid. From now on, we owe each other nothing."
"If you ever run into financial trouble, you can still come to me."
I couldn't believe how shameless he was.
I raised my hand and slapped him again.
Olivia shoved me hard. "Sienna Vance! You only lost your sight, but Chase wasted ten years of his youth on you!"
I almost laughed out loud.
So, according to them, he was the victim here?
I slapped Chase a third time. "Keep your little mistress on a leash. Tell her to stop barking."
The moment I walked out of the venue, my composure crumbled into tears.
I forced myself not to sob out loud. I wanted to keep whatever dignity I had left.
But that was ten years of my life.
