Dumped for a Millionaire

He looked at me with pure malice. I knew he had always resented reporting to me. All he ever did was slack off all day.

He was great at kissing ass, though. Another team wanted him, and I was planning to transfer him by the end of the month. Now? I didn't even want to see his face.

But before he left, I needed to teach him a lesson.

I smiled at him. "Actually, I do have a shortcut. Want to hear it?"

I crooked my finger. He leaned in, curious. I lowered my voice and whispered directly into his ear:

"You can always drop your pants and sell yourself on the street, you cheap bastard."

"What did you say?!"

I shrugged. "Didn't you ask for tips? Why get mad when you hear the truth?"

Mark’s face flushed red. "Logan, don't flatter yourself! You're just a shameless cuck.”

“The kid isn't yours, but hey, your wife still is! Once Carter moves to HQ, you can send your wife back to give him another heir. Free money!"

The break room erupted into laughter.

That was the last straw. I lunged forward and threw a heavy right hook straight into his jaw, pinning him to the floor!

His scrawny frame was no match for me. He screamed and begged for mercy under my fists.

The crowd watched in amusement at first, but when they realized I was beating him half to death, they rushed over in a panic to pull me off.

I shook out my bruised knuckles. "Talk about a freeloader again, you little punk!"

"Logan! I'm calling the cops!" Mark shrieked, clutching his bloody nose.

"Go ahead!"

Just then, Carter Evans walked in. "What the hell is going on here? Calling the cops for what?"

"Mr. Evans! Logan attacked me! Look at my face!"

Carter glared at me. "Logan, what is wrong with you? This is an office, not an alleyway!"

"Assaulting a colleague. Your bonus this month is completely wiped!"

Hearing this, Mark sneered, "Logan, pay me eight grand for medical bills, and maybe I won't press charges!"

"Fine, call the cops," I snapped. "You ran your mouth, and I recorded the whole thing on my phone. If this leaks online, nobody in this room looks good!"

Mark was about to lose it, but Carter stopped him. "Enough! Everyone back to work. Mark, in my office. Now."

Mark stomped off after him. I scanned the room with a cold glare. "Anyone else wants to run their mouth, you know where to find me."

"Logan, aren't you afraid of getting fired?" someone whispered.

"Fired?" I scoffed. "Big deal. I can find another job tomorrow. Can you guys say the same in this market?"

Dead silence fell over the room.

If there was one thing I had, it was unmatched competence.

Honestly, if Melanie hadn't begged me to join this firm, I would never have set foot in this place.

Over the past five years, my sales numbers carried half the department. Melanie knew damn well how she made branch manager in the first place.

Over time, though, she actually started believing it was all her own talent.

I wanted to see what kind of game they were playing.

Half an hour later, Mark walked out.

The HR director walked right beside him, watching him pack up his desk. I was genuinely surprised.

"Listen up, everyone," the HR director announced loudly. "Starting today, any unprovoked insults or workplace brawling will result in immediate termination!"

"Mark is the prime example!"

The moment the words landed, all eyes shifted toward me. My heart grew cold. They did this on purpose. They fired Mark just to isolate me and paint a target on my back!

As Mark walked past me, he hissed, "Logan, you traded your wife for a promotion. You disgust me!"
